Here is one of the wonderful things about fashion - even if you like your "it" guy to look like he's been working a band saw, he doesn't need to actually work one. He can just get the look with one of the new pieces from ADAM KIMMEL X CARHARTT collection, launched this week at Barneys New York. Adam Kimmel's take on rugged meanswear couldn't be more "downtown cool" with pieces ranging from two-button blazers and flannel pocket shirts to worker pants and hoodies.
To celebrate the launch, Barneys partnered with artists George Herms and Paintallica who constructed a site-specific installation that was commissioned for the Barneys New York 60th Street windows. At the event guests had the opportunity to play a role in the construction of the windows, which included wood carving and other things I haven't done since my art school days. The event was held in the studio where the department store creates its window displays, which couldn't be more appropriate for the artsy crowd mixed with surprised fashion folks who came to celebrate.
