2009 Grammy Awards Red Carpet:...

This short Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti frock wasn't the obvious red carpet choice, but LeAnn Rimes decided to take the risk.

I wish she would accessorize the dress with bold jewelry and definitely different shoes to make it more appropriate for the occassion.

Only my opinion..female musicians shouldn't be competing with the likes of the Oscar winners on the carpet. They shold be more free-spirited in their glamor. I think LeAnn chose a perfect dress. It is eclectic and highly appropriate for The Grammy Awards. The colors, textures and length all speak music to me. I agree that a few accessories, such as the eye-popping blue wrap the model in the photo above is wearing, or even just utilizing her pockets for the photo opp as seen above, would have helped LeAnn pull it off better, but it was unique among the dresses, in a good way. Interesting to me is that just last week I purchased a knock off of this dress (which I didn't see til LeAnn wore it last night) to a June wedding. It reverses the color scheme, in darker hues, smaller waistband with faux crystals, and halter front. Same fabric but no pleats. I would love this as a full length summer gown. Color required this summer I hope, for real and not just on the runway, but on the street.
