The newest Tory Burch collection, inspired by Morocco - from Yves Saint Laurent’s Majorelle Gardens to Marella Angelli’s home in Marrakech, launches today!
Always interested in the stories behind collections inspirations, we got these exclusive details from Tory Burch on how the Moroccan theme was born: "Last year Tory went with the design team to Morocco. They had an incredible trip and it ended up inspiring the current collection. In the 60s Tory's parents had stayed at the legendary La Mamounia and she wanted to go to Marrakech before the hotel was renovated. It was beautiful and its bird garden is the most magical place in the world. On their first evening they had a traditional dinner at Le Tobsil. The setting, a 2 story courtyard was magnificent and tiles in the courtyard inspired one of our current prints. They visited palaces, mosques and of course the souks. The marketplaces were an explosion of color filled with beads, embroidery. jewelry, silk slippers, leather goods and rugs."
You can definitely feel these elements coming through in Moroccan inspired embroidery, eclectic prints, and fabrics that look sun kissed.
