In fact, last week the man himself paid a visit to the museum, where his designs are displayed among the shoes belonging to Pope John Paul II and Marilyn Monroe.
The next time you are in Milan, it is well worth it to make a trip to Vigevano, just to visit the world famous "Museo della Calzatura" (the Footwear Museum). Located in the heart of Lombardy's picturesque Ticino Valley, Vigevano is steeped in traditions of creative art and craftmanship. Over the years Vigevano has formed the backbone of today's internationally-oriented footwear industry.
