Balenciaga's Nicolas Ghesquiere takes fashion very seriously, almost like a separate from reality form of art, which sometimes is hard to digest as something that is designed to function. His vision, shown on the Paris Spring 2008 runway was beautiful, bold and well executed. Wearable? Trendy? Desirable? Not sure... I wish his collection was more versatile so you could see the woman behind his clothes. In his case woman/ model body is just a container for his artistic experiment. While there is no question that there is place for such experiments in the fashion world, I see a bigger challenge in incorporating vision like this in the modern woman wardrobe.
