Fashion world was never in sync with the reality, and it looks like Tom Ford is taking it to a whole new level. On a day when 45,000 more jobs are expected to cut in The US only, he announces men’s denim line that retails for $990!
The jeans, hitting stores now, are made from Japanese selvedge denim that feels and looks raw, but has been pre-washed and pre-shrunken so the indigo doesn’t rub off. They also come in black or white. In the front, the button is plated with 18-karat gold, and the pockets are lined with the same silk as Tom Ford suits.
It looks like Tom Ford's clients aren't affected by the economy, or maybe they just belong to the prosperous healthcare industry. Next time I pay my doctor a visit, I'll make sure to take a peak at his jeans label ;)
