NY Fashion Week Spring 2008 - Gottex Swimwear Collection

New York Fashion week got a nice breeze of fresh air tonight at the Bryant park tent. Gottex Swimwear collection has proven once again who rules the beaches of St. Tropez, Caribbeans and now East Coast. Gottex swimsuits could be compared to red carpet gowns - the level of details and creativity sometimes looks even higher than in other clothing collections. Tiny pieces of lycra never looked so luxurious and chic. It's hard to reinvent swimwear every year, but the talented heart behind the label - Gideon Oberson - does just that. He manages to translate the latest clothing trends to swimwear and even take them step further and create something completely his own and unique. You could notice the popular yellow brights and patent leather, but also lots of handmade looking embellishments and newly shaped cuts. This collection, called "Brazilian-Bond Girls" is all about fusion - "fusion of cultures and fusion of colors. The strength and edginess of the legendary Bond Girls mixed together with the festive colors and shapes of Carnival" (Gideon Oberson)
