To compensate on the lack of runway drama during the Resort collections season, both Marc Jacobs (Louis Vuitton) and Alber Elbaz (Lanvin) turned to modern art for help. Both great minds used huge painted canvases as a background for their work, and even combined paintings' elements into their clothes. In LV's case it was the British Tanya Ling who provided the artistic prints for dresses and shorts, and in Lanvin case the art work (unknown) was printed on tops and bags. Both used warm palette consisting of brights and neon hues, made into abstract prints by LV and literally taken by Lanvin.
Was this a case of great minds thinking alike or maybe one of the fashion world intrigues carefully planned by unfaithful insiders?
I wish for the second scenario, just to spice up the boring resort season...
