I know, I know - American Idol is not about the looks, it's about the talent, the voice, the singing, etc.... I'm sorry, but as a general viewer I can't enjoy a show without being given something eye pleasing, and by that I mean style. Even if most contestants can't afford designer clothes, there are many ways to look presentable on stage, without spending the big bucks.

None of these ways include jeans and a cute top! When you fight on the chance of your career by singing in front of million viewers it's just not enough. At this stage of the Idol popularity we should expect great performers that have a bit of a personal style and express their personality through their look as well as their voice.

I hope contestants fashion sense will improve as the show progresses; otherwise I will just fast forward to the finale and watch David Archuleta wins...
