Switching from the Charlie's Angels bikini to Cashemere Mafia designer frocks has definitely helped Lucy Liu to mark her status as a fashionista, but it's her newly formed friendships with some of the most powerful names in the fashion industry that established her new fashion icon status.

Whether she is decorating a front row at Lanvin and Galliano at the Paris fashion week, attending Maddona's party for Gucci or flying to Moscow to support a charity fashion event for a pal super model Natalia Vodianova - Lucy Liu is always a fashion statement. Luckily for us she isn't afraid to take risks both on the small screen, as Mia, trendy Manhattanite whos style is orchestrated by the one and only Patricia Fields, as well as in her real life as an actress/ fashionista.

Her recent appearance on the "Late show with David Letterman" wearing a white cape coat, bright pink cocktail dress and a gold oversized satchel made some serious Carrie Bradshaw flashback. Like with Sarah Jessica Parker and Carrie Bradshaw you don't really know when the on-screen character starts influencing the actress and the opposite. 

One thing is obvious - Lucy Liu might  be on her way to build her fashion icon status borrowing few tips from SJP, who's done it just a few years back.
