While most actresses will kill for getting diamonds for their big Oscar night, this year Oscars Cinderella isn't into diamonds and free publicity.

According to the news, first time Academy Award nominee Diablo Cody was supposed to be wearing the 'Retro Rose' shoe designed by Stuart Weitzman with more than 1,800 Kwiat diamonds, worth over $1 million!! Just when I tried to imagine the funky dress Diablo would wear with these classic 40s style pumps, I found her recent MySpace post:

...NEWS TO ME, kids. I must have somehow missed the part where my shoes cost a MILLION FUCKING DOLLARS and my "choice" of footwear would be publicized nationwide. I honestly thought they were just sparkly shoes. Mr. Weitzman did mention that the diamonds were real when I tried them on, but I'm not Nancy Rockman, Expert Gemologist. I didn't, you know, bust out my miniature spyglass and assess the potential worth of my kicks.

I'm actually really pissed about this, now that I think about it. They're using me to publicize their stupid shoes and NOBODY ASKED ME. I would never consent to a lame publicity stunt at a time when I already want to hide.  

I bet Stuart won't be happy reading this. It's the first time someone says NO to his Million Dollar Shoes!

Kudos to Diablo for staying true to who she is, I can't wait to see what she will be wearing tomorrow night!
