In the world obsessed with being THIN and full of magical diets promising amazing results just for the right amount of cash, the most expensive one seems to come from your favorite technology company, and it' s not gonna remove that extra tier just below your waist.
Thinnovation is the new term for anorexia, in a technology world. Everything goes thinner and lighter: your cell phone, your TV, and now your laptop. In this case of course anorexia is a positive thing (therefore the prettier term Apple coined: Thinnovation).
Thinnovation does come with healthier living: less weight to carry around, more beautiful innovations to show off to your friends. And of course it comes with a higher price tag. Thinner gadgets cost more, as simple as that.
13.4" MacBook Air released earlier this week by Apple claims to be 3 lb and thinner than your iPhone. The price tag is $1799. That' s what you' ll have to pay to get a thinner upgrade (in my case I' ll be losing 3 lbs compared to my HP Pavilion).
3 lbs is a lot for someone that used to carry the "baby" from Starbucks to neighborhood coffee shop and bunch of meetings).
Would I pay $1799 and lose my PC integrity? Hmm... probably not. I won' t be part of this new obsession with THIN.
Well, maybe just until HP catch up on the trend...
