Forbes has presented the ultimate web celebs list and obviously there were no big surprises. All pretty well known figures that we mostly read everyday (it's about time to admit that we all read Perez, who got the #1 spot). The only thing that strikes me most is probably that the list has only 5 women.
If you think about our society it's probably not the most surprising fact. Look at politics, look at your corporate structure and you will probably notice the same. One thing that still doesn't make sense is how come the Internet, a place that promotes democracy as much is having the same women/ men ratio problem. Is it us, the women, who still don't take a full advantage of the new possibilities Internet brings to us, or we are just convinced by the fact that Internet was created by men therefore is run by men (and by men I mean geeks;). Interesting fact: statistics are showing that more women than men shop in the online world. I hope one day we can influence this world as well.
Congrats and thanks to LonelyGirl15, Gina Trapani (LifeHacker.com), Kathy Sierra, Xeni Jardin and Heather "Dooce" Armstrong (
