Forget your old Roomba, that vacuum cleaner that travels around your home and cleans the corners. The new generation of iRobot was presented today and they look super smart. These days home robots come with a wireless control, tilt-and-zoom video camera, speaker and microphone. You can remotely activate the robot and drive it around the home using a computer keyboard, mouse or joystick. The new iRobots will be available for sale end of this year, starting at $199 (which I think is a fair price to pay for your home robot assistant)
It sounds like a beginning of a real home revolution, we truly come closer to what we see in the sci-fi movies, where lots of simple tasks done by robots. Of course iRobot still has a long way to go, but it looks like a good start. If a robot can clean my house through a remote device while I'm out - can the life get any better?
