Manhattan based jewelry designer, Zani Gugelmann, has made bullets decadent and precious. Santo, her bullet shaped pendant necklaces are made from 18 karat white gold and are embedded with rubies, black diamonds, green emeralds, and yellow sapphires. Each bullet unscrews where a small script is placed inside. Gugelmann says her intention is to scribble something special on the script so it is close to its wearer's heart.
The collection is inspired by the designer's current lifestyle in New York City, reflects self expression, and designs are from the heart. Gugelmann says " If you look up the word silver bullet in the dictionary it reads: a simple and magical solution to a complicated problem" (www.elle.com).
Santo gives back to the community as well - 20% of proceeds are donated to select charities. Ruby bullets donate to AIDs, Blue Sapphire to The Red Cross's Soliders of War Fund, and Yellow Sapphire to her mother's organization that provides disaster relief in Peru.
