Here is an interesting story that might teach you a thing or two about your computer and the ways hackers find it. 23-year-old Robert Moore was on his way to a federal jail when he revealed some shocking facts that made his hacker job easy.
He states that the #1 insecurity is the default passwords that set on the machines and apparently people never change. This allowed him to hack 6 million computers during 3 months only! Moore and his partner managed to turn this into a whole new VoIP Services business and make lots of cash. They even made one telecom company close their business because they couldn't afford the large VoIP services bill thanks to hackers that used their lines.
Although the insecurity causes damage mostly to businesses, take this advice if you tend to store very personal files on your home computer (everyone and their own dirty secrets;)
Moore will be serving 2 years and he admits that he is more upset about being banned from using a computer than actually going to prison. That's a true geek!
