I'll admit it. I pet just about every dog I pass on the street and coo at them in my involuntary dog voice. I'm that girl. It took me way too long to get over Old Yeller and Charlotte the spider when I was a kid.
That said, it won't surprise you that I love companies that don't test their products on animals. To me, it's part of my goal of living a green lifestyle. I feel that acting in their best interest coincides with my ideas about environmentalism. Not to mention, many of the companies that refuse animal testing are also eco-advocates.
Instead of wondering, I check Caring Consumer (owned by PETA), a site that lists animal-friendly companies.
I was pleased to see how many companies I have to choose from and relieved to find that some of my old favorites like Almay, Clinique, and Bobbi Brown adhere to ethical means of production.
With just a little extra clicking, you can find eco and cruelty-free alternatives, like Aveda and Aubrey Organics.
