If you haven't heard of the ambitious One Laptop Per Child program, you maybe should, especially if you have kids, looking for the perfect Christmas gift and some way to give to charity.
Starting November 12, One Laptop Per Child will be offering a Give 1 Get 1 Program for a brief window of time. For $399, you will be purchasing two XO laptops—one that will be sent to empower a child to learn in a developing nation, and one that will be sent to your child at home.
I think the idea is great, although the founder of the program expressed his earlier disappointment with the slow sales for his cheapest laptops in the world. I think this new concept might work better for them. It's a great thing to buy your kid a laptop and know there is another kid somewhere in the world getting the same laptop from you. Imagine how many opportunities this will open for those kids in developing countries. This is technology that really changes lives. Get one at
