11/20/2007, 04:37 PM
PHOTO DESCRIPTION The first photograph (Figure 5) was taken in 1926 in Ludington, Michigan. Nelsigne and her mother, Marie, were visiting her older brother and other family that had settled in the area. Nelsigne is wearing a short, straight dress with a belt tied at the lowered waistline. Marie & Nelsigne's Fashions - Fashionable Dress
11/20/2007, 04:36 PM

When the Amendment was repealed in 1933, these ‘speakeasies’ became the basis for the modern nightclub. Chain stores began to emerge in the 1920s creating a new source of apparel for the public. (Tortora and Eubank, 2005) Then, when Nelsigne came in 1924 the Ottoman Empire end...

The reefer or pea coat is a loose double breasted jackets with side vents and small collars. It first became prominent during the Crinoline Period of 1850-1869 as a jacket for sailors. Reefers maintained the same shape, style, and coloring for the next century. They were used as jackets for military personnel and as overcoats. In the 1940s there was a small revival or the pea jacket due ...
