Stella McCartney is known for her anti-fur statements both verbally and through her designs. Now she takes it into the virtual world by arranging a anti-fur protest on Second Life for one week, starting 12 July. She got PETA support for this worldwide event where visitors will be able to donate money for such a good cause.
"Guests will be invited to come up with the best anti-fur slogan, based on the iconic PETA slogan "I'd Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur", or simply to wear a T-shirt saying, "I'd Rather Be Pixelated Than Wear Fur". As the slogans are submitted, they will appear on the island, forming the basis for an ongoing discussion about the cruelty of the fur trade.
The slogans will be judged by McCartney herself, with the winner announced on 22 July. The best three slogans will win Stella McCartney prizes. First prize: two tickets to the Spring-Summer 2008 fashion show in Paris in October. Second prize: a Fall-Winter Appaloosa bag. Third prize: a full set of CARE by Stella McCartney."
So unleash your virtual protestor and go help the good cause!
