The new cars Nissan is working on simply won't let the driver start the engine if he doesn't pass the system test. This test includes odor sensors that monitor breath, detectors which analyze perspiration of the palms, and a camera that checks alertness by eye scan. This will supposedly reduce the number of fatal accidents on the road. it sounds very promising, especially since the subject is coming up too many times in the news lately. Thanks to Paris Hilton, Nikole Richie and Lindsay Lohan drunk driving is in the news, therefore more authorities seek solutions. That's a big step for Nissan who is leading the change from the carmakers side. Hopefully more automotive companies will invest in the research and development now.
