LA-based denim line Babakul is owned by Kym Gold, the former co-founder/co-owner of True Religion Jeans, Hippie Jeans and Bella Dahl. The Malibu-born, self-made woman and single mother of 3 has over 25 years of experience in the fashion world and she has come up with a new contemporary women's line.
After selling her shares at True Religion, she developed Babakul, an everyday wear from 4 staple fits (skinny, boyfriend and wide flare), a vest and a blazer. The website is loaded with campaign shots featuring eyecandy multiracial models, showcasing the very wearable collection that would pass east coast chic snobby test. In short, I would wear them.
Celeb fans include Jessica Alba, Scarlett Johansson, Miley Cirus and Rachel Bilson.
Babakul is sold at Fred Segal Fun, Ron Herman, Nordstrom and Nieman Marcus, retailing between $160 to $220.
