So I'm going to go against the grain of the majority of my posts, and I'm going to keep this particular review on Borba Skincare short and sweet.
Borba skincare is fantastic. My girlfriend, Jill, occasionally does stints on TSC (The Shopping Channel) here in Canada. And, occasionally, if the planets are aligned and I've been a good girl, Jill will allow me to A) borrow dresses out of her closet and B) have an assortment of Borba swag, left over from the shoot.
Both are pretty sweet outcomes if you ask me.
So in the history of Jill's time on TSC, I've had an opportunity to sample items from Borba's Age Defying line, as well as the HD Illuminating line. And, to this day, all those items are prizes in my skin care regime.
This is talking to the girl who has the complete Stella McCartney CARE line, before that I was a confessed Biotherm hog and periodically in between, I learned the benefits of Oil of Olay's acne anti-aging facewash. So besides the sharing some small, yet darling common ground with Liz Lemon, there is more to be said. You see, my skin is unique, I'm prone to stress breakouts (as I believe most writers are), my skin is prone to winter dryness (as most Middle Eastern women are), early morning oilyness, mid-afternoon dullness and of course, there's the smiles lines that have haunted me since 18, the ever threatening promise of crows feet, blotchiness, and red spots from, well, the spots.
On top of it all, my skin is sensitive, so not any facial care regime will do. I don't want to add allergic break out to that list as well!
The Borba Age Defying line has a magical blend of herbs and spices that appears purple, smells fruity and calms my skin. I'm not going to get into the details, because truthfully, the results are enough to make me very pleased with the product.
Above Stella McCartney, Biotherm and Oil of Olay.
It doesn't dry my skin out, it moisterizes without oiliness, it calms the redness, evens out my tone, and dare I say that I even had a compliment from someone who said that I looked years younger. So maybe with one compliment I was brainwashed to believe that my skin couldn't do better?
Well my near $1000 collection of Stella McCartney is housed under my sink while my $60 kit is being rationed like sugar during the depression. I love how I truly believe the Borba topical skin care regime has done a lot to improve my complexion and I really just wanted to share that with everyone.
Here's the clinical results on each product - obviously take it with a grain of salt, but I honestly believe they aren't that far off. Borba is skin-crack... and I'm sure the fine folks at Borba will adore me for saying that. But, it's true... I want it, I need it... I got to get more!!!!!

So what's the downside? Well, the fact I need to rely on Jill to supply me, because being a broke ass writer means that occasionally I have to beg borrow and steal to get by. Plus, I've revealed my Stella McCartney collection, that truthfully, made my skin break out and helped me smell like a patchouli soaked hippy.
When you smell like patchouli, the world thinks you don't wash. I'll stick with Borba and let the world think I'm beautiful... but not as beautiful as Jill - because she's SUPER generous as well.
:)
MWAH!
