"TV is dying" said Vint Cerf one of the internet's founding fathers in a recent interview.
"85% of all video we watch is pre-recorded, so you can set your system to download it all the time," said Mr Cerf.
And so as broadband penetrats every house it's only a matter of time before IP TV will become mainstream and linear TV will be out.

Joost, is step one in the that direction. Still at invite only beta mode this application stream high quality video (not HD) straight to your computer, right now Joost offers many channels such as: MTV, Comedy Central ,National Geographic, etc. Most still offer older content. This is expected to get much better as they go live.

I have been using Joost for a few months now and the advantages over TV are clear:
1. No commercial breaks, they are experimenting with some non-intrusive overlay Ads.
2. Lots of various content to choose from.
3. Don't like this video... skip!
4. What I want to watch, when I want to watch.

I am so ready for TV 2.0.
