stacymarie (5) Gender: Female Place: New York, US Birthday: 10/13/1988 About: Hey everyone! Designing is #1 in my life and so important to me. I am soo happy and excited to be participating in this competition and possibly having a change to be in a runway show in NYC. My biggest goal/dream in life is to have my own runway show, and for this to possibly be happening to me this year is truly a dream come true. I don’t mean for it to sound so cliche, but it is really the truth! Fashion and clothing are really important to me. I love making different types of things, but creating fashion is definitely my favorite thing in the world to make. Being able to take a piece of fabric, drape it on the mannequin and transform it into a piece of art is amazing. Many girls have a hard time believing they are beautiful for different reasons and I want to be that person to make them feel beautiful. There is nothing that can make you feel more beautiful than a fabulous outfit. Here is a little about me: I go to the Fashion Institute of Technology and major in Fashion Design. I just completed my first two years and now have my Associates Degree. For the next two years I will work hard to get my Bachelors Degree, and graduate in 2010. This past semester in school was really important to me, not only because I earned a degree but also my Term Garment was chose to be displayed at school. Our Term Garment inspiration was James Galanos, living designer. The Board chose only a handful of students in each Draping class to be featured in The Galanos Exhibit at F.I.T. where James Galanos made an appearance. I was fortunate enough to be one of the people chosen. This was based on creativity, sewing technique/craftsmanship, and fit; the exhibit was absolutely beautiful. All the drawings that are shown for the Contest will be translated into real garments when I find out if I will be one of the 3 Finalists. If I become one of the 3 finalists, all I can say is enjoy the beautiful clothes I make (and well-made, I’m a great sewer) and I hope they make you as happy as they make me. I am so hardworking and everyone around me knows that about me. There is nothing in the world I want more than to be in this runway show. I hope I am lucky enough to bring my drawings to life. For all the girls that take the time to read this (sorry I talk a lot haha!), just remember that you don’t have to look a certain way to be beautiful, if everyone looked the same that would be boring! Not only do I love fashion and live it, but also one of the main reasons I love it is because I want to make you girls feel great! Make my dream come true. Thanks everyone :)
