"Fashion Is Not A Luxury"

At least that's the motto of Steve and Barry's. With over 260 stores worldwide, the two billionaires have created a fashion mecca where their clothes are selling dirt cheap. Seeimingly, shoppers are exclaiming about how much they've saved instead of how much they've spent after shopping at Steve and Barry's stores. How is this possible?

The two men who doesn't even advertise simply enlisted the help of celebrity to create buzz. Stars like Sarah Jessica Parker whose clothing line is front and center at the stores, as well as Venus Williams and Laird Hamilton, the surfer. How chic is that? Celebrities making cheap, well 'cheap', or at least affordable to the general public.

Celebrity clothes, sneakers, and accessories are selling for less than $10.00, $8.98 to be exact. Steve and Barry still refuses to consider raising their prices by one cent!

I worked there for awhile- and I love the clothes. The Bitten line is great for trendier items when you haven't got a ton of money- their jeans have lasted me a year and they cost me less than $15. The actual concept of the line is that nothing- even coats, bags , and shoes- will cost over $20. Pretty cool, huh?

Fashion isn't about how much you spend, I constantly frequent stores (such as Republic here in Montreal) that sell things much cheaper then everywhere else and give me items that's not already owned by everyone. I enjoyed you're article greatly, it was informative and really important to state (fashion isn't about how much you spend!), thanks.

I agree fashion isn't about how much you spend. I like many love "cheap" fashion. But... I'm also about fair wages and labor practices. You ain't payin' fair wages at $8.98 retail unless you're purchasing massive quantities, which is possible with their stores. It still makes me pause though.
