While reporting on economic and environmental changes that are occurring in rapid succession in todays world, an astute observation was made by an on air television Anchor who stated that "Going green is not just a trend anymore, but, rather, a lifestyle change."

With purchasing prices for Oil increasing overseas, comes an increase to the consumer in gas prices here in the states. With the economic slump many refer to as "recession" where food prices are increasing, taxes are 8, 9 and10 cents to a dollar in different cities, people dipping into their 401k saving plans in an attempt to save their homes; It's no wonder that folks are looking for aternatives means to survive.

Going green and living an affordable/comfortable lifestyle can be accomplished by doing basic things like recycling...buying in bulk...changing your regular light bulbs for CFL bulbs which, according to reports lessens energy consumption. Visit eco-friendly websites that teaches you how to food shop and prepare nutritious green foods. Purchase green furniture. Use low flow shower heads in the home. Shorten your bath time ritual and cut back on water usage...Use natural plant base cleaners instead of those with harsh chemicals. Shop smart by using coupons.

Educate your children about the environment. There are websites and schools teaching children about the environment. The Green Parent is one such website. Even if you don't have a 'green thumb', you can  beautify your space by planting a green garden with  mixtures of pink and cool/ seeds of lavender/ sweet potato plants that bursts into colors of orange blossoms  and evergreen... There are so many avenues one can take to start incorporating 'green' into their own lives...

Know of an eco-friendly business that need help? Tell somebody...sow some seeds...
